Working with Trauma in Babies series - Trainings - Enhancing the Future - Graham Kennedy

Working with Babies

These workshops are designed to support qualified craniosacral practitioners to deepen their clinical skills in working with babies. They also supplement the Resolving Birth Trauma workshops, which are highly recommended for all practitioners working in this area. We will look at covering the following areas:

  • Core clinical skills in working with babies
    Family dynamics
    Resourcing and trauma assessment
  • Basic birth dynamics
  • The effects of obstetrical interventions
  • Prenatal dynamics
  • Umbilical affect

  • We will explore how we can create a safe enough space to allow the baby’s story of its early life experiences to begin to unfold. We will discover ways of appropriately meeting and acknowledging this story as the baby reveals to us the details of his/her prenatal and birth experience. We will also look at the ways in which unresolved prenatal and birth trauma affect our neurology, creating the potential for significant emotional, behavioural, developmental and learning difficulties.
